Shipt’s strength is its retailer depth, not its breadth. Where Shipt wins over DoorDash and Instacart is the deep integration with stores like Target, Meijer, HEB, and several regional grocery chains. This guide covers every Shipt retailer, what makes each different, where Shipt is the only good option, and where another delivery app might be a better choice for that specific store.

If your preferred retailer isn’t on Shipt, see Shipt vs DoorDash for Groceries or Shipt vs Instacart for Customers for alternatives.

What’s in this guide

Major retailers — the headline stores

Shipt’s marquee partners:

  • Target (broadest integration; Shipt is owned by Target).
  • Meijer (Midwest US).
  • HEB (Texas).
  • Costco (limited markets).
  • Publix (Southeast US).
  • CVS Pharmacy (national, limited inventory).
  • Petco (national).
  • Sephora (national).
  • Office Depot (national, business supplies).
  • Aldi (some markets).

Plus regional and smaller grocery chains varying by city.

Target — the deepest integration

Shipt is owned by Target (acquired 2017), so Target is the deepest integration:

  • Full Target inventory: groceries, household, electronics, apparel, beauty, toys.
  • Target Circle integration: digital coupons, Target deals automatically apply.
  • Target Circle 360: paid Target loyalty program that includes Shipt access (alternate sign-up path).
  • Same-day delivery at most stores.
  • Target RedCard discount (5%) applies on Target items.

This is where Shipt is the clear best option. DoorDash and Instacart’s Target integration is shallower.

For more on Target specifically, see How Shipt Works at Target.

Meijer

Midwest grocery chain (Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Kentucky):

  • Full grocery inventory.
  • Meijer mPerks loyalty integration.
  • Same-day delivery in most markets.
  • Pickup option available at some stores.
  • Pharmacy items (no prescriptions via Shipt — see CVS section).

Meijer-specific issues to watch:

  • Inventory updates lag occasionally; some items showing in app may not be in-stock.
  • Substitution patterns vary; mark items refund-only if you’re particular.

HEB

Texas grocery powerhouse:

  • HEB-exclusive items (HEB-branded products).
  • Texas regional foods and produce.
  • Same-day delivery throughout Texas markets.
  • HEB curbside option (separate from delivery).

For Texas residents, HEB on Shipt is often the cheapest grocery delivery option vs. national alternatives.

Costco

Wholesale-quantity items via Shipt:

  • Available in limited markets (varies by ZIP).
  • Costco membership NOT required to order via Shipt.
  • Bulk packaging maintained.
  • Some items (wine, organics, alcohol) restricted by state.

If Costco isn’t available at your address, check Instacart — they’ve historically had broader Costco coverage.

Publix

Southeast grocery chain (Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina):

  • Full Publix grocery inventory.
  • Publix BOGOs and weekly ad pricing apply.
  • Same-day delivery.
  • Pharmacy items (limited).

Publix on Shipt is a meaningful alternative to Publix’s own delivery service in some markets.

CVS Pharmacy

CVS via Shipt focuses on non-prescription items:

  • OTC medicine.
  • Beauty and personal care.
  • Snacks, drinks.
  • Convenience items.

Prescriptions are NOT delivered through Shipt — for those, use CVS’s own pharmacy app or DoorDash’s pharmacy partnership.

For CVS-specific delivery deep-dive, see How to Order OTC Medicines from DoorDash (DoorDash’s CVS coverage is broader for OTC).

Petco

Pet supply via Shipt:

  • Full Petco inventory: dog, cat, fish, bird, reptile.
  • Pet food, treats, toys, supplements.
  • Some pet pharmacy items (with prescription).
  • Standard same-day delivery.

Pet food and supplies through Shipt save the trip; not particularly cheaper than buying in-store, but the convenience is real.

Office Depot

Office and business supplies via Shipt:

  • Office Depot retail inventory: paper, ink, supplies, electronics, furniture.
  • Same-day delivery for stocked items.
  • Some larger items (furniture, monitors) may have separate shipping.

Niche but useful for last-minute office needs (need a printer cartridge before a meeting tomorrow).

Aldi

Aldi’s primary delivery partner is Instacart; Shipt’s Aldi coverage is limited or absent in many markets:

  • Available in select markets only.
  • Aldi’s pricing model means delivery doesn’t fully match in-store value (still cheap, but margin is thinner).
  • Substitutions are common — Aldi’s inventory rotates fast.

For Aldi, Instacart often has broader Aldi coverage. Check both before committing.

Other regional grocery

Shipt partners with many regional grocery chains varying by location:

  • Albertsons / Vons / Safeway / Pavilions (West Coast).
  • Kroger family (Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, etc.) — some markets.
  • Harris Teeter (Mid-Atlantic).
  • Big Y (New England).
  • Lowes Foods (Carolinas).
  • Stew Leonard’s (Northeast).
  • Sprouts Farmers Market (some markets).

Coverage varies — open Shipt at your address to see what’s actually available.

What’s NOT on Shipt

Stores you might expect but won’t find:

  • Whole Foods — Amazon owns Whole Foods; uses Amazon Fresh.
  • Walmart — Walmart has its own delivery service (Walmart+).
  • Amazon Fresh — Amazon’s own service.
  • Most warehouse clubs (Sam’s Club, BJ’s) — limited or no Shipt integration.
  • Independent local groceries without national partnerships.
  • Liquor stores (state-restricted).
  • Most restaurants — Shipt is grocery-focused, not restaurant.

For these, you’d need DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart, or the retailer’s own service.

Don't see your store? Open Shipt at your address; the available stores vary by ZIP. If your top retailer isn't on Shipt, [DoorDash](/blog/shipt-vs-doordash-for-groceries/) or [Instacart](/blog/shipt-vs-instacart-customers/) may be better fits.

How to find what’s available at your address

  1. Open Shipt app or visit shipt.com.
  2. Enter your delivery address.
  3. Browse the stores available at that address.
  4. The list reflects:
    • Active retailer partnerships in your ZIP.
    • Current store hours (closed stores hidden).
    • Distance to delivery range.

If your preferred retailer isn’t shown, double-check by ZIP code (Shipt’s coverage can be hyperlocal). Or search the retailer directly to see if Shipt has it in any nearby ZIP.

FAQ

Can I order from multiple stores in one Shipt order?

No. Each Shipt order is from one store. To order from two retailers, place two separate orders.

Does Shipt cost the same regardless of store?

Generally yes — your membership covers delivery fees on all participating stores. Per-order delivery fees (without membership) are similar across stores.

Are prices on Shipt the same as in-store?

For Target: yes, identical. For other retailers: typically yes, but sometimes 1-2% higher.

Can I use store loyalty programs on Shipt?

Most major loyalty programs work: Target Circle, Meijer mPerks, HEB Curbside, Petco Pals. Pricing matches in-store with these benefits applied.

What about restaurant delivery?

Shipt isn’t a restaurant app. For restaurants, use DoorDash or Uber Eats.

Can I order alcohol from Shipt?

Yes in legal states, with age verification at delivery. Available at Target, HEB, and some other retailers.

Why doesn’t Shipt have my favorite store?

Retailer partnerships are negotiated individually. If your favorite retailer doesn’t partner with Shipt, they may use DoorDash, Instacart, or have their own delivery.

Can I switch stores mid-order?

No. You’d need to delete the cart and start over with the new store.

Does Shipt deliver from multiple locations of the same chain?

Each ZIP is assigned to a specific store location. The closest is selected automatically.

Will my Shipt order arrive in one delivery?

Yes — one shopper delivers your entire single-store order in one drop.
