Add your SNAP EBT card to DoorDash (web)

- In the pop-up under Account Settings, click Payment.
- Scroll down to the Program Cards section.

Your EBT card is now saved and available at checkout for SNAP-eligible orders.
Important rule: EBT only pays for SNAP-eligible items
EBT covers the SNAP-eligible portion of your order only. Tax, delivery fees, tips, service fees, and any non-SNAP items in your cart must be paid for with a different payment method (debit, credit, gift card). DoorDash splits the order at checkout — eligible items charge to EBT, the rest to your secondary card.
What SNAP/EBT covers on DoorDash
Covered (SNAP-eligible) items: - Bread, cereal, fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy, and most groceries - Non-alcoholic beverages including soda, juice, water - Seeds and plants that produce food - Cold prepared foods (depending on item category)
NOT covered by SNAP — pay with secondary card: - Hot prepared foods - Restaurant meals (except in states participating in the Restaurant Meals Program) - Alcohol, tobacco - Vitamins, supplements, medicines - Pet food, household products - Delivery fees, service fees, taxes, and tips
States and stores that participate
DoorDash's SNAP/EBT acceptance is store-specific within participating states. Common participating chains include Aldi, Meijer, Albertsons, ACME, Vons, Pavilions, Safeway, Sprouts, Bartell Drugs, and many regional grocers. To check if your local store accepts EBT on DoorDash:
- Open DoorDash → search for the store.
- Look for a SNAP/EBT eligible badge on the store tile or item.
- If you don't see it, the store doesn't currently accept EBT through DoorDash.
Common errors and fixes
"EBT card not accepted in your state" — DoorDash's EBT acceptance is state-specific. If your state isn't supported yet, EBT can't be added.
"Card number invalid" — double-check the card number; EBT cards usually have 16-19 digits depending on state.
"Order won't process — secondary card required" — you can't have a SNAP-only order on DoorDash. A secondary payment method must be on file for non-SNAP charges.
"Wrong amount charged to EBT" — at checkout, DoorDash shows a split: SNAP-eligible total to EBT, everything else to secondary card. If the split looks wrong, items may be misclassified — contact DoorDash support.
"My EBT card was deactivated" — contact your state's EBT issuer (number on the back of the card) to reactivate, then re-add to DoorDash.
