If you've replaced your EBT card or no longer use SNAP for DoorDash orders, removing it from the DoorDash website is a six-step workflow. Watch the walkthrough below, or follow the step-by-step underneath.
Remove your EBT card from DoorDash (web)
- Open doordash.com and click Sign In.
- Enter your email and password, then click the Sign In button.
- From the left-side menu, click Account.
- In the pop-up under Account Settings, click Payment.
- Scroll to the Program Cards section to see your SNAP EBT card.
- Click the delete icon beside the EBT card.
The card is removed immediately. Your physical EBT card and SNAP balance are unaffected.
Before you remove
A few things to consider:
- Pending orders using EBT. If you have an in-flight order that included SNAP-eligible items paid via EBT, wait for that order to complete before removing the card.
- You can re-add the EBT card any time. Removal isn't permanent — you can add the same card back later via Account → Payment → Program Cards → Add SNAP/EBT Card.
- Removing EBT doesn't lose the card itself. This only removes DoorDash's link to it.
What changes after you remove your EBT card
| What | Effect |
|---|---|
| In-flight orders using EBT | Not affected. Charge already cleared. |
| Past EBT orders in history | Stay visible. |
| Future SNAP orders | You'll need to re-add the EBT card before checkout for SNAP-eligible items. |
| Your physical EBT card | Unaffected. |
| Your SNAP balance | Unaffected. |
| Other payment methods on DoorDash | Unaffected. |
Common errors and fixes
"Cannot remove — pending order" — wait for the in-flight order to complete.
"Card not visible to remove" — sign out, sign back in, then check Payment → Program Cards.
"Removed but still appears at checkout" — app cache. Sign out and back in, or use a different device to verify.
"Can I have zero payment methods on DoorDash?" — generally no — DashPass and pending orders may require a card. Add a different payment method before removing your last card.
SNAP-shopping alternatives
If you're removing EBT from DoorDash because you've moved to a different SNAP-eligible delivery service:
Amazon Fresh / Whole Foods (SNAP/EBT eligible) → — broad SNAP support across Amazon's grocery network.
Walmart → — accepts EBT online for eligible items in participating states.
If you're staying with DoorDash but rotating to a new EBT card, the same Payment screen supports add and remove in any order.
Need broader SNAP/EBT coverage? Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods accept SNAP/EBT for eligible items across their grocery network — often the broadest SNAP footprint in delivery. Shop SNAP-eligible items on Amazon →
FAQ
Will removing my EBT card cancel SNAP orders in progress?
No. In-flight orders complete normally.
Can I remove EBT and keep my other DoorDash cards?
Yes. Card management is per-card.
Will my SNAP balance be refunded?
Removing the card doesn't process refunds. Your SNAP balance is held by your state's EBT system, not DoorDash.
Does removing EBT affect my DashPass?
No. DashPass bills your designated DashPass card (typically a credit/debit, not EBT).
Can I re-add the same card?
Yes. The same EBT card can be re-added via Add SNAP/EBT Card.
