- Tap the Grubhub app to open it.
- Tap My Grubhub.
- Tap the Track option on the screen.
- The tracking screen displays the driver’s status (e.g., “driver is on its way”).
What the tracking screen shows

- Whether the food is being prepared
- Whether a driver has been assigned
- The driver’s location during the last leg of the delivery process (driver en route to you)

Live driver-location tracking primarily activates when the driver is heading to your address — not during the entire pickup-and-prep cycle.

iOS Live Activity tracking
Grubhub supports Live Activity on iOS 16+. Once enabled, status updates appear on your iPhone’s Lock Screen and Dynamic Island without opening the app.
To enable: iOS Settings → Notifications → Grubhub → toggle Live Activities on.
What to do when tracking isn’t updating
“Status hasn’t changed in 20+ minutes” — pull down to refresh the tracking screen.
“Driver location dot isn’t moving” — GPS lag is common. Wait a few minutes and refresh.
“Order says delivered but I don’t have it” — check delivery instructions and the photo (if provided). If you genuinely didn’t receive it, contact Grubhub support immediately at 1-877-585-1085.
“Restaurant hasn’t confirmed in 15+ minutes” — restaurant POS lag. The food may still be being prepared. Contact Grubhub support if concerned.
“Driver hasn’t been assigned yet” — peak hours can delay assignment. Contact support at 30+ minutes.
“App shows me a different driver mid-delivery” — happens when the original driver swaps or Grubhub re-assigns. Address and contact info stay the same.
